Late last night my husband's "Little Grannie" passed away very suddenly and unexpectedly. We were planning Thanksgiving lunch to be at their home tomorrow. We are so very grateful for the Grannie she was to all of us and that she went with no suffering or pain. It reminds me once again how quickly things can change and how valuable pictures are to me... and most of us to help us capture the memories of the times we had together. I thought I'd post a few pictures of last Thanksgiving with Grannie to remember her. You guys hug your Grannies and Grandpas and all of your loves ones often over the holidays and take lots of pictures. You know you'll value them for generations. You can see why Grannie was known as "Little Grannie". She was barely 5 ft. tall and never broke 100 lbs. She was little but she worked hard all of her life and made her way in the world with no help from anyone! She was little but strong and ummm, shall we say stubborn? She loved being a Grannie and our Beth loved sitting and giggling with her. I tossed in a picture of the turkey the kids and I made last year. I know Grannie thought John's "city girl" wife is a little crazy making silly turkeys out of fruit but it was fun and she asked for a picture of it later so she must have wanted to tell somebody about it. I'll just post a couple of pictures but we have many more to keep our children's memories of their Great Grannie alive!

I just noticed this post, and I have to tell you that I had a "Little Granny" too! She was my great-grandmother. We called her Little Granny because my once my grandmother had grandchildren she became "Granny." i love the pictures of your husbands grandmother. What wonderful memories. Grandparents are so very very special.
